Apartment Above Needful Things; Tuesday Late Morning

Harley had spent most of the weekend on the mainland. Not just Baltimore, either - she'd taken the kid out on a little road trip. Yanno, for life lessons! Most of them criminal, of course, but that was sort of how their mentorship worked, so someone else could handle the boring stuff. Anyway, they'd had fun!

So much of it, in fact, that Harley had only landed back on the island late on Monday evening. Technically probably Tuesday? Which meant that after she'd passed out and slept her fill, the day was already well on its way. She rolled groggily out of bed, shambled her way into the living room --

And groaned when she saw the glitter bomb still waiting on the coffee table, and not downstairs attached to the front door ready to explode on Frenchie if he showed up again this week. Whether he'd already shown up or not, Harley was not in a state to go set it up now.

She shuffled around some more, in search of her phone, which she found discarded on the kitchen counter. No calls, no messages apart from Cass informing her she'd ordered breakfast delivery on Harley's account. Harley looked at the phone for a long moment more anyway, tapping her thumb against the side of it in thought. Groggy, still sleepy, not yet caffeinated thought.

And pulled up a number she'd had for a while but never actually texted before.

(Successfully, anyway. There was that time on her birthday.)

Harley's lips curved into a smirk under the nipping. "And what if I wantcha to enjoy somethin' else on this table first?"

In her defense, she was known for her bad impulse control, and him being there and smelling so much like himself - particularly now, so soon after a shower - and feeling like himself, well, she found it just a little bit intoxicating.

"Coffee'll get cold," Marc pointed out. Of course he said that while kissing her smirk.

"Do you care?"

He was free to drink coffee instead! Regardless of how hard she kissed him after asking.

"Got it for you," Marc replied.

Well, both of them. But point being he wasn't worried about it, no. Which the kneading at the back of her neck might also indicate.

"So I'll drink it cold," Harley hummed, and nipped on his lip just a little sharper than before. "Or lukewarm if we're quick!"

That got another huff of a laugh out of him. "Want me in a minute now?"

"I want you hot," Harley retorted, biting his smile again, "not too fussed 'bout anything else."

Marc moved his hand down to her ass and yanked her good and close to him.

"You do all right."

"Oh I know," Harley just about purred. A natural reaction to the good kind of getting yanked around! And/or to being all pressed up against him. Both worked, and both worked well. "Noticed how close to me ya got when you were barely in through the door."

"Had to take care of breakfast," Marc said. With a nip at her mouth now.

Just made her smirk more. "Am I the breakfast?"

Marc had a smirk of his own against her lips. "Maybe."

So Harley absolutely had to nip at that, now. It just made sense! And it was fair!

"What's 'maybe' mean?" she teased. "C'mon, big guy, use your words."

As he was so famously great at doing.

"Means could be yes or no," Marc replied, grinning at her.

He could be a wise guy sometimes.

"Oh, this is what you choose to be a wisenheimer about?" Harley demanded, oh so affronted. So very. "Marc, this is serious business!"

"Pretty much," Marc replied. Looking smug.

It was incredibly attractive. But Harley was trying her damnedest to make a face at him all the same, eyebrows all pushed up like a warning.

"Careful, there, the breakfast buffet might close up."

She really popped that 'p' sound at the end.

Marc wasn't enjoying watching her try or anything. You could tell from the light in his eyes.

"Lunch is pretty soon."

Harley made a big show of scoffing.

"And you think if ya fuck up breakfast, the lunch menu will still be there? Now who's the optimist?"

"Some places might like if I was hungrier," Marc pointed out, giving her a backside a squeeze.

And here was the big pout, all wobbly-like with how nuch the corners of her mouth were wanting to curve upward, but still present and accounted for.

"Does this look like some place to ya?"

"Nah," Marc said. He kissed her, because the pout earned it even if it was wobbly. "Better."

Weird how fast that pout yielded to kissing him back. Just strange.

"So's hearin' that."

"Think I bring breakfast for just anybody?" Marc told her.

Almost no one, actually.

"Does Steven count?" Harley asked. "Maybe the detective?"

Neither of those were 'just anybody' by any stretch of the imagination.
