Apartment Above Needful Things; Tuesday Late Morning
Harley had spent most of the weekend on the mainland. Not just Baltimore, either - she'd taken the kid out on a little road trip. Yanno, for life lessons! Most of them criminal, of course, but that was sort of how their mentorship worked, so someone else could handle the boring stuff. Anyway, they'd had fun!
So much of it, in fact, that Harley had only landed back on the island late on Monday evening. Technically probably Tuesday? Which meant that after she'd passed out and slept her fill, the day was already well on its way. She rolled groggily out of bed, shambled her way into the living room --
And groaned when she saw the glitter bomb still waiting on the coffee table, and not downstairs attached to the front door ready to explode on Frenchie if he showed up again this week. Whether he'd already shown up or not, Harley was not in a state to go set it up now.
She shuffled around some more, in search of her phone, which she found discarded on the kitchen counter. No calls, no messages apart from Cass informing her she'd ordered breakfast delivery on Harley's account. Harley looked at the phone for a long moment more anyway, tapping her thumb against the side of it in thought. Groggy, still sleepy, not yet caffeinated thought.
And pulled up a number she'd had for a while but never actually texted before.
(Successfully, anyway. There was that time on her birthday.)
You awake yet?
(expecting one but can be open for other stuff as well!)

Three guesses whether she was only going to be digging out one burrito, and whether he was going to get it.

So there was just the one burrito, which Harley was attempting to unwrap with just the one hand.
She could have brought the other one over to help, but that sort of maneuvering would have jostled him, and she didn't want to be that directly responsible for him pulling away. Despite her other current actions.

And then the melodramatic sagging of her shoulders betrayed which one she was holding even before the big sigh of, "Well, fuck. I had such a good thing going!"
Being an ass.

"Why'd ya have to be so thoughtful?"
Clearly a very serious complaint.

Also a very serious statement. You could tell by how she pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before reaching for the bag a second time.

In fact a collection of things that could be added to a burrito if one wanted. Almost as though the person who had grabbed them hadn't known if there was a preference and thus got one of everything.

"But ya had to bring it here from such a long way away, right?"

You know, the one he'd gotten from the place two doors down from where he lived.

And set about getting some salsa and several other things onto her own burrito. Hey, it was all there, she'd be a fool not to! Everyone knew she liked to overindulge, anyway.
Sitting on his lap while doing it was not not symbolic of that, too.

Really, the confused little hum said enough, maybe, but Harley also looked up at him, and then down again. "Oh, I'm great," she said, with a fully unnecessary but demonstrative little rock of her hips. "I've had much worse chairs!"
He should probably worry about spillage from her burrito dressing efforts, though.

Of course, then her efforts with the salsa and everything else were done, and she didn't exactly wait before going to chomp into the burrito.

There was something suspiciously like a smile playing about his lips.

"Aw, does it make ya sad to be losin' out to a breakfast burrito?"
