Harley had spent most of the weekend on the mainland. Not just Baltimore, either - she'd taken the kid out on a little road trip. Yanno, for life lessons! Most of them criminal, of course, but that was sort of how their mentorship worked, so someone else could handle the boring stuff. Anyway, they'd had fun!

So much of it, in fact, that Harley had only landed back on the island late on Monday evening. Technically probably Tuesday? Which meant that after she'd passed out and slept her fill, the day was already well on its way. She rolled groggily out of bed, shambled her way into the living room --

And groaned when she saw the glitter bomb still waiting on the coffee table, and not downstairs attached to the front door ready to explode on Frenchie if he showed up again this week. Whether he'd already shown up or not, Harley was not in a state to go set it up now.

She shuffled around some more, in search of her phone, which she found discarded on the kitchen counter. No calls, no messages apart from Cass informing her she'd ordered breakfast delivery on Harley's account. Harley looked at the phone for a long moment more anyway, tapping her thumb against the side of it in thought. Groggy, still sleepy, not yet caffeinated thought.

And pulled up a number she'd had for a while but never actually texted before.

(Successfully, anyway. There was that time on her birthday.)

Roughly the same difference as between Steven and Watts, funnily enough.

"Normally I've only got the one, so..." Marc said, with an offhanded shrug.

"There's nothing normal here," Harley quipped with missing a beat, "which is lucky for me!"

'Lucky' was another one of those words she pronounced all big somehow, with lots of bared teeth.

She glanced past him at the bed, and seemed just about ready to maneuver him on it, except -- "Wait, no, I know how that goes," she said, with a theatrical shake of her head. To herself, mostly. "Nuh uh, if I don't get ya outta your clothes first, I'll be comin' on your jean-clad thigh or knee or something before I even realize what's happening."

Which was why when her hands left his ass - with one last appreciative parting pat - they went straight for his shirts, instead.

That actually got a chuckle out of him as he did what he could to help her without getting in her way. "That'll be a first for us."

Both of them thirtysomethings going on sixteen.

"Yeah, I've noticed that trend with us," Harley replied, even if that was already evident enough from how she peeled his upper body bare and tossed everything carelessly off to the side, not looking where it landed. "And usually I don't mind all the delicious heavy petting and dry humping action, but I'm tryin' to do a thing, here!"

Which explained why she was going directly for his pants, next.

"Understood," Marc said. Which was why he kept himself to watching her and moving only as much as needed to help her along. He knew from past experience things like touching led to them getting distracted.

He really, really wasn't wrong there. Of course, Harley still sort of mourned the lack of touching, because she could do that even when she'd just made big noise about exactly why they should avoid it, and you couldn't stop her!

But she got him out of his pants and his boxer briefs in something close to record time. And then she straightened up and -- gazed upon him, with open admiration laced with want. "Damn," she said, "doesn't get old."

Harley liking what she saw certainly wasn't hurting Marc's own enjoyment of the moment. Which was much easier to see now so that worked out.

"We get to make this even?" Marc asked, indicating what remained of Harley's clothes. Not touching yet because again, they did get distracted.

In response, Harley made an extravagant, welcoming gesture at the entirety of herself, and smirked big and wide.

"Knock yourself out, baby."

Marc was tempted to enjoy himself along the way. But he reminded himself they had a goal here. So even as he went to take Harley's bra off he kept it to simply admiring the view and not running his hands over her newly bared skin.

Same for the rest of her clothes, if she didn't do anything to stop him.

Not so much.

"You can still touch," Harley told him, as if she didn't know how they were. "I know you want to."

"So could you," Marc pointed out. Though he did skim his hands along the sensitive skin beneath her exposed breasts.

"Yeah," Harley hummed, "but we're not talkin' about me right now."

Also she seemed to still be busy eating him up with her eyes.

"Talking about me touching you," Marc pointed out. He slipped his hands around to her back. Yes, there were very tempting things he could be doing with his hands on Harley's front. He was taking his time exploring her bare skin. Because he could.

Harley stepped closer to him. You know, just to make it easier for him to reach her back. Definitely just that, nothing about touching her front to his.

That part just happened.

"Exactly."

Oh hey, look how his hands on her back helped him pull her closer to his chest.

To be helpful to her, of course. Since she wanted to get rid of that space between them.

"So we're talking about you."

"As an object," Harley pointed out. "Nothing about me doin' stuff."

She was now skimming her hands slowly up his arms, of course. She could only get so close before the hands started making their own decisions.

"'scuse me all to Hell for not knowing the difference," Marc said, dryly.

His hands made the decision to move lower and cup her ass again, pulling her nice and close from that angle. This was doing nothing to get her shorts off but Marc had tried to stay on task.

It wasn't Harley's fault he apparently couldn't touch and strip her at the same time! Or at least somewhat concurrently!

"You're 'scused," she told him, like a brat, as she lightly dragged her nails up his shoulders - and also squirmed between his hands and his front a little.

He was welcome.

Mark smirked at that. He moved his hands up on her back, then down again, trying to slip them in between her skin and her shorts.

It wasn't hard to do, the elastic on the waistband had a lot of give. And Harley certainly wasn't going to object, either!

"You're so pretty when you get a little smirky," she informed him, nails traveling up the side of his neck on one side, her other hand kneading at his shoulder a bit. "Gets me goin'."

He was always pretty. She just also reveled in getting his face to do things like that.

"That why you're a pain in the ass?" Marc asked. As he always did, this didn't sound like something he considered a problem.

Also not a problem was that loose elastic. Once Marc felt it wasn't holding on too tight, he tried to see if he could get Harley's shorts to slip down her hips and onto the floor. Still with his hands on her ass though. Multitasking.

Harley gave him a big pout. "Aww, am I being a pain in the ass?"

The shorts slipped down with minimal effort. They pooled at her ankles, and she stepped out of them and kicked them aside with about as much ease. And a little unnecessary shimmy of her hips.

"Am I gonna have to make it up to ya?"

"You know damn well you are," Marc said. But, again, as though it was a good thing. Stressed by the way he moved his hands under her ass and tried to pull her up towards him.

Harley's chuckle as she yielded to his effort of moving her didn't exactly sound like she found anything about this a hardship, either.

"Guess I'm gonna have to give ya my best, then. Give ya the other side of the coin."

Marc leaned in so his lips were just under her ear but not touching her neck.

"Both your sides are pretty good."
