Causeway Parking Lot to the Mainland; Later Tuesday Afternoon

It might not have ultimately been too much of a surprise which car in the parking lot was Harley's current ride. At least if you happened to know the Chevy Impala was Dean's provided it was even present on Tuesday. The funky 1970s green Chevy Chevelle sedan (four doors, see what she'd said about the back seat?) was of course Harley's: a classic look, but not so flashy as to attract too much attention and immediately get her in trouble as soon as she'd grabbed it from where the very unfortunate previous owner had left it.

Although the main hint that it was hers was still probably that she'd parked her butt on the hood of the thing as she waited for Marc to get there.

Were they in a rush? Marc - well, the body didn't have anywhere to be until tomorrow night, so...

Now that she was closer Marc moved his hands up to the small of her back. Not that he minded her hips, but there were other parts he could be getting familiar with again too.

Harley's hand that had been so tightly clutching his shirt had abandoned it now.

Which meant that, sorry, whatever he'd been doing with a comb was about to be rendered retroactively futile, as his hair was where those fingers slid next. Sorry not sorry.

Well, if she was going to ruin perfectly combed hair - to say nothing of wrinkling his shirt - then he had no option but to move one hand up to the back of her neck and start lightly massaging it.

That would show her.

Oh yes, turning her into putty, surely that would show her!

And, well, in some respects Harley was much like a toddler: shouldn't leave anything within her reach that you didn't want her to get her grubby hands on or into.

Because that was quite the grip she already had on the hair at the back of his head.

Which Marc absolutely hated. You could tell by the way he deepened the kiss while the hand still on her lower back held her tighter.

Tons of displeasure here. So much. Oodles, even.

Just practically wafting off him, the displeasure! Palpable!

Must've been why Harley kept at it. And yielded to the deepening like she was greedy for it, too.

Being eager was something she could be counted on for.

Any second now Marc might remember where they were and what they were supposed to be doing. But in the meanwhile he could be tangling a hand in her hair and adding some light bites on her lips.

Harley did have a habit of making him forget things in favor of just doing.

It was the lack of impulse control, it was contagious. Between the two of them, they did have a fair bit of smarts, it was just that they kept throwing it all right out the window in moments like this.

Bites and tangling were good. Harley responded by hooking one leg around his. Just trying to bring him closer, that was all!

If Harley was going to be thoughtful enough to move her leg like that then Marc was going to take shameless advantage to use that hand on her back to haul her closer and get rid of pesky room in between them.

That did not make Harley ease off with the clinging and the everything else in the slightest.

Like sure, the hand in his hair was kind of tugging on his hair now, but it didn't seem like the goal was to move him any further away from her.

That was good. Because the result was him kissing her harder, which did require him being very much in her space.

The hand on her back started to move to her side and then up and okay then he had enough memory of where they were to at least stop that before it went too far.

Aw, but it pulled such a disappointed sound from Harley!

Whose hooked leg and the ensuing lack of space between them, specifically between their respective hips, was also beginning to approach 'too far'.

She would've blamed him, for being too enticing.

No, this was clearly her fault. Something about lack of impulse control being contagious? Or maybe she was enticing as well. One of those.

Yes, it could be said to be both. Except Marc did have enough control to finally break the kiss. Not go far, just enough that he could look at her, warm and breathless.

Harley was just ridiculous enough to gasp a big breath and actually say "Whew" out loud.

If only to follow it up with, "How's that for an appetizer?"

Not necessarily for a meal, no.

That got a chuckle out of Marc. His first impulse was to do a version on Not bad, I guess. But he didn't want to risk hitting any lingering vulnerable spots for her so instead he went with, "You do whet the appetite."

Which was also a free gift on word play if she wanted it.

Good call. Harley snickered and smirked. "Oh, and its not the only thing gettin' whet."

What, you wanted clever, you were gonna have to bait her when she wasn't kiss-drunk.

"Thinkin' we should take this show on the road," she continued, pulling one of her hands away from Marc only so she could pat the hood of te car. "Show the old gal a good time somewhere... else."

"Gonna admit I was not ruling out this wasn't even the car you stole," Marc told her. He stepped back so she had room to stand, but did offer her a hand down if she wanted it. Maybe if he was thinking about it he would remember it wasn't like Harley needed the help. But, well, he was doing a lot of things without thinking about them right now.

"Ohhh, I shoulda thought of that!" Harley said as she let him help her back to her feet. She didn't need it, but it was still nice! "That would've been funny."

"Keep it for another time," Marc said. "So are we breaking in again or...?"

"What, into the car?" Harley asked, as she produced keys from one of her pockets. "Sheesh, just call me an amateur to my face, why don't ya!"

"My bad," Marc said. He went around to the passenger side to wait for her to unlock it. "Though not amateur hour to assume you don't need 'em."

"I don't, always," Harley confirmed readily, unlocking the driver's side. "But they're nice to have!"

And with that, she slid into her seat so she could lean over and unlock the door for him, too.

The interior of the car was looking pretty good for its age, although it definitely had some major 70s classic vibes to it. And much like the back seat, the front was really all just one continuous thing. Like a couch in a car.

Marc got in and took the measure of it all. "I've had worse."

"Glowing review," Harley replied with a an amused huff.

A few more easy moves and the engine growled to life. (Seatbelt? Did Harley seem like someone who bothered with a seatbelt?) "So! Where to?"

"Dinner eventually?" Marc said. Given the age of the car he was not ruling out any existing safety features would do more harm than good. Also he wouldn't stay dead if the worst happened so, yanno.

"Drive for a while then stop when we find a place?"
