Causeway Parking Lot to the Mainland; Later Tuesday Afternoon

It might not have ultimately been too much of a surprise which car in the parking lot was Harley's current ride. At least if you happened to know the Chevy Impala was Dean's provided it was even present on Tuesday. The funky 1970s green Chevy Chevelle sedan (four doors, see what she'd said about the back seat?) was of course Harley's: a classic look, but not so flashy as to attract too much attention and immediately get her in trouble as soon as she'd grabbed it from where the very unfortunate previous owner had left it.

Although the main hint that it was hers was still probably that she'd parked her butt on the hood of the thing as she waited for Marc to get there.

Call it a freebie.

Marc had only needed to handwavey with permission duck in real quick to give Watts the heads up he was going out... and to probably anticipate Marc would be staying out, if past experience was any indication. So that part had gone quick.

Oh, and run a comb through his hair. Since it had been messy for some reason.

Coming into the parking lot Marc took in the view, and also the sight of the car. As he got close enough for Harley to hear him he said, "Yep. Would've lost that bet."

"Which way?" Harley called back, grinning. "Too obvious? Not obvious enough?"

"Wouldn't have thought this kind of classic car," Marc admitted. He stood in front of her now that he was close. "Would've figured you for a Corvette."

Of course perhaps things would be different if Harley was buying instead of helping herself to whatever free range selection was available.

Judging by Harley's wistful "mmh" he probably wasn't far off.

"Maybe next time someone's leaves one lying around."

'Cause, yanno, that was how she ended up with these things. People just leaving 'em lying around.

"Or a Ferrari," Marc said, now that he was thinking about it. "Something that says sporty instead of muscle."

He looked at her, considering. "Also red."

"Why red?"

Asked the woman who occasionally adhered to the same red-and-black color scheme that was also currently on display in the tattooed diamonds on her arm.

Batting her lashes.

"Looks faster," Marc said, giving her a grin. He might've been leaning into her personal space a little when he said that.

And here was Harley, so concerned with her personal space that she was leaning up a little bit.

"But then there's no element of surprise."

She looked proud of herself for that one.

"You are constantly surprising," Marc had to admit. While leaning closer still.

All the excuse Harley needed for reaching up to curl her hands into his shirt, so she could just pull him in to meet her for a kiss.

They'd never gotten around to that at the house! It was a travesty!

Gross oversight on someone's part, clearly.

Marc had no problem making up for it though. He put his hands down on either side of Harley, blocking her in as he kissed her back.

One of Harley's hands stayed tangled in his shirt. The other strayed all the way up to his cheek.

She could devote a moment to making up for the oversight. Not with too much heat, but...

Well, a little bit never hurt anyone, right?

Hopefully not, because Marc moved his hands to cup her hips next as he leaned in to get a better angle.

Mutual oversight meant mutual making up, of course.

Very mutual. Harley made a happy, pleased noise in her throat and held on to him just a little tighter.

Like he was going anywhere.

Marc wasn't going anywhere - again the multiverse could note that not being the norm for him. But also in much the same way Harley didn't mind being pulled closer, he didn't mind when she held him tighter. Very possibly for similar reasons.

And oh look, he was pulling her closer now.

Were they supposed to be going somewhere?

Harley made another one of her exclamatory noises, clearly happy to be pulled in. So, not thinking ahead much.

Were they in a rush? Marc - well, the body didn't have anywhere to be until tomorrow night, so...

Now that she was closer Marc moved his hands up to the small of her back. Not that he minded her hips, but there were other parts he could be getting familiar with again too.

Harley's hand that had been so tightly clutching his shirt had abandoned it now.

Which meant that, sorry, whatever he'd been doing with a comb was about to be rendered retroactively futile, as his hair was where those fingers slid next. Sorry not sorry.

Well, if she was going to ruin perfectly combed hair - to say nothing of wrinkling his shirt - then he had no option but to move one hand up to the back of her neck and start lightly massaging it.

That would show her.

Oh yes, turning her into putty, surely that would show her!

And, well, in some respects Harley was much like a toddler: shouldn't leave anything within her reach that you didn't want her to get her grubby hands on or into.

Because that was quite the grip she already had on the hair at the back of his head.

Which Marc absolutely hated. You could tell by the way he deepened the kiss while the hand still on her lower back held her tighter.

Tons of displeasure here. So much. Oodles, even.

Just practically wafting off him, the displeasure! Palpable!

Must've been why Harley kept at it. And yielded to the deepening like she was greedy for it, too.

Being eager was something she could be counted on for.

Any second now Marc might remember where they were and what they were supposed to be doing. But in the meanwhile he could be tangling a hand in her hair and adding some light bites on her lips.

Harley did have a habit of making him forget things in favor of just doing.

It was the lack of impulse control, it was contagious. Between the two of them, they did have a fair bit of smarts, it was just that they kept throwing it all right out the window in moments like this.

Bites and tangling were good. Harley responded by hooking one leg around his. Just trying to bring him closer, that was all!

If Harley was going to be thoughtful enough to move her leg like that then Marc was going to take shameless advantage to use that hand on her back to haul her closer and get rid of pesky room in between them.
