Causeway Parking Lot to the Mainland; Later Tuesday Afternoon

It might not have ultimately been too much of a surprise which car in the parking lot was Harley's current ride. At least if you happened to know the Chevy Impala was Dean's provided it was even present on Tuesday. The funky 1970s green Chevy Chevelle sedan (four doors, see what she'd said about the back seat?) was of course Harley's: a classic look, but not so flashy as to attract too much attention and immediately get her in trouble as soon as she'd grabbed it from where the very unfortunate previous owner had left it.

Although the main hint that it was hers was still probably that she'd parked her butt on the hood of the thing as she waited for Marc to get there.

Call it a freebie.

"You?" Marc asked. Not that she could see but his eyebrows raised in bemusement. The kidding tone in his voice was easy to hear though. "Shocking. Never would've expected it."

"Gets the blood pumping," Harley replied, with a smirk that he only got to see in profile. "Feels electric."

"So later on I'm competing with a car," Marc said, with a smirk of his own. "Got it."

And Harley's smirk grew sharper and wider.

"Oh, sweetie, the car is foreplay."

"If it's up to me the main event's not gonna go this fast," Marc told her.

To that, Harley just laughed.

It was a loud, raucous sound.

Marc shook his head, so enjoying the view.

He liked seeing her happy. So what?

And that meant he also got to see Harley's expression brighten up in a different way, right after.

"Ooh, I think I see an actual diner up ahead!"

It was a little hard to make out for sure, just yet, but the speed at which they were going was going to solve that problem real soon.

(And yes, it was a diner. Not a chain place!)

"Facinated to see how you park," Marc said.

Not snarking. Amused.

"Oh, I park great."

Though of course before they got to that part, she had to take another unnecessarily sharp turn into the parking lot in question! And at a higher speed than the previous one, too!

That she took no signage or anything else with her was testament to her driving skills, when you disregarded the absolutely illegal speed of everything.

Marc simply laughed. And kept his hand on her thigh. Purely to brace himself, of course.

Harley hadn't been curious about how he'd take her driving, beforehand. That didn't mean it didn't delight her how he took to it.

The actual parking - into a spot towards the edge, away from the other cars, yet another reason for strangers to be grateful - went surprisingly smoothly. Like, sure, even with her slowing down a little, the speed with which she came at the spot was perhaps still excessive, but she pulled it off without incident! In the end, they were parked!

Harley snickered. It sounded a little breathless.

"I was gonna say you owed me a ride, but..."

Marc let that trail off, a free gift to her.

Harley laughed some more, turning to face him again, finally.

"What, you figure that left you satisfied?"

Since Harley was turned in his direction, Marc leaned over to give her a kiss. Not too long, but not a quick peck either.

"No, actually. That'd be you."

Harley enjoyed every second, and maybe swayed after it a little once 'not too long' was done.

"I don't follow," she sighed.

"You leave me satisfied," Marc explained. "Not a car."

Or as satisfied as Marc ever got about things anyway.

"Ah," Harley said. "It was a compliment."

And look at her not getting caught up in tangents about how it mattered that it was still her driving the car!

"That was the idea," Marc said. "Guess I haven't gotten any better at those since the last time."

Harley brushed her hand along his cheek, and raised her eyebrows.

"Trust me, it's a good one."

Marc leaned into that touch without fully realizing he was doing it. "Good. It's true."

Harley noticed, of course, but much like with the smiling, she knew to keep her damn mouth shut about it.

Just made the touch firmer. Cupped his cheek more fully.

"Good," she decided, half jokingly. "I think I like bein' satisfying."

Which was wise of Harley once again, since that meant he kept leaning into the touch.

"'course right now there's a problem," Marc said. Very serious.

"Oh is there?" Harley asked, clearly taking it very seriously. Hers was a very serious smirk indeed. "What's the problem?"

"This," Marc said. He reached over with his free hand to rest on her right hip and try to see if he could close some of that space between them on the bench.

So potentially really good choice for her not to wear a seat belt.
