Causeway Parking Lot to the Mainland; Later Tuesday Afternoon
It might not have ultimately been too much of a surprise which car in the parking lot was Harley's current ride. At least if you happened to know the Chevy Impala was Dean's provided it was even present on Tuesday. The funky 1970s green Chevy Chevelle sedan (four doors, see what she'd said about the back seat?) was of course Harley's: a classic look, but not so flashy as to attract too much attention and immediately get her in trouble as soon as she'd grabbed it from where the very unfortunate previous owner had left it.
Although the main hint that it was hers was still probably that she'd parked her butt on the hood of the thing as she waited for Marc to get there.
Call it a freebie.
(for that guy, continued from here!

And now his nose was getting booped.
"No one else stands a chance."
Now, whether she genuinely thought anyone ought to even try was a different matter entirely. It was easy to be like this about it when she was already feeling good in a whole handful of ways.

"C'mon. Lemme buy you dinner."

Of course, she then made a theatrical show of making a keening noise of protest at what he said, far too over the top to be serious.
"If you want," she said.
no subject
"I did just say so, yeah," he replied. But there was a smile playing about his lips.

And then she pressed kind of a loud smack of a kiss on his lips, and said, "Okay, but I'm gettin' every kind of pie they got for dessert!"
Truly a horrible price to pay.

Then she held for just a beat, before:
"Unless you're much more of an exhibitionist than I thought."
no subject
"What do you think?"
no subject
A prospect she had zero problem with.

How nice it was that his laugh didn't sound like something that should have been written out in big block letters, a HA HA HA to make your skin crawl.
His laugh? Was just a laugh. It shook his chest, made talking a bit of an issue for a moment, and wasn't meant to intimidate anyone in any way.
There was a joke Harley was supposed to be making, but she'd forgotten all about it. She just looked... taken with something.

Marc saw Harley's look and had a curious one of his own. "You okay?"
no subject
Instead, she leaned in and pressed a quick kiss on his cheek, no reason, then patted his shoulder and moved to finally - sigh - maneuver herself off his lap.
"Come on, big guy, you got dinner to buy!"
no subject
"Yes, ma'am," Marc said. He let himself out on the passenger side. "With all the desserts."
She'd specified pies but it was Marc so frankly impressive he'd gotten the category right.
no subject
But she locked his door behind him (she liked this car, she could be responsible sometimes!) and got out, herself.
"All the desserts," she agreed, with a happy sigh.
no subject
In the meanwhile he came around to her side and automatically went to slip a hand around her waist. So much so he wasn't even fully aware he was doing it.
no subject
"I was tryin' to!" she protested, like clockwork, leaning against his side.
no subject
For a guy not normally into word play he did seem to keep serving these things up for her on the regular.
no subject
Like so:
"Ha, nothing's gonna fill me up like you, promise."

Just maybe not right this second since she did need to get through this door now, which she did, happily swanning in.
