Apartment Above Needful Things; Tuesday Late Morning
Harley had spent most of the weekend on the mainland. Not just Baltimore, either - she'd taken the kid out on a little road trip. Yanno, for life lessons! Most of them criminal, of course, but that was sort of how their mentorship worked, so someone else could handle the boring stuff. Anyway, they'd had fun!
So much of it, in fact, that Harley had only landed back on the island late on Monday evening. Technically probably Tuesday? Which meant that after she'd passed out and slept her fill, the day was already well on its way. She rolled groggily out of bed, shambled her way into the living room --
And groaned when she saw the glitter bomb still waiting on the coffee table, and not downstairs attached to the front door ready to explode on Frenchie if he showed up again this week. Whether he'd already shown up or not, Harley was not in a state to go set it up now.
She shuffled around some more, in search of her phone, which she found discarded on the kitchen counter. No calls, no messages apart from Cass informing her she'd ordered breakfast delivery on Harley's account. Harley looked at the phone for a long moment more anyway, tapping her thumb against the side of it in thought. Groggy, still sleepy, not yet caffeinated thought.
And pulled up a number she'd had for a while but never actually texted before.
(Successfully, anyway. There was that time on her birthday.)
You awake yet?
(expecting one but can be open for other stuff as well!)

When she went ahead and made a similar move, it was absolutely playful.

Whoops, the rest of that got abandoned in favor of the kiss. What a shame. What, she'd hunted it down, she ought to enjoy the spoils.
no subject
Though Marc had possibly anticipated that she would be and hadn't changed what he'd said at all for some reason.
no subject
"Come on," Harley purred like a great big tease, after the bite, "that all ya got?"
Never mind that even a light bite sure felt like something when her lips were already all tingly from a lot of the rougher kissing.

So she went ahead and tried that right now.

Funny, it seemed that way from Harley's side, too, actually. Might've been more of a smirk, but still.

Or, you know. Kiss him back like she appreciated him, too. As far as feedback loops went, it wasn't a bad one.

She was squeezing both his hands again, as she kissed him back. Not too hard, but like she was holding on to him.
no subject
Amazing all the things he could do when he didn't think about it much.
no subject
Another little bit of surrender to go with how loud her heart seemed to thump in her ears, all of a sudden.

As for the kiss? She wasn't pushing for anything more than it was - a miracle in itself, as it always was when he got her to slow the fuck down. Soft, lingering, she could do it when it was him.
no subject
So it wasn't that she was slowing down that mattered. He liked that she was loud and brash. But this didn't feel like change. More like a part of her that was always there and he was getting to see it.
Which was nice. That he liked. He tried to show it by making his kisses more tender than they'd normally be. Soft for soft.
no subject
She found herself liking it. Sinking into the flow of it, moving with him in the slowest of ways.
no subject
Marc's own loop here was the softness. Now that he was on it, he wanted to keep giving her something nice and tender. Why, he couldn't say. But it led to a point where, when he paused to breathe, there might have been an unconscious nuzzle of her cheek.
no subject
She remembered, in her own, hazy way, how awkward he'd seemed about soft and gentle things at the start. Months ago.
And look at him now.
no subject
Though there were some that were constant. Like Marc also taking advantage of that pause to look at Harley's face to make sure she was okay.
no subject
She smiled at him a bit, like she was onto him and his checking up on her, but was playing nice about it.
