Apartment Above Needful Things; Tuesday Late Morning
Harley had spent most of the weekend on the mainland. Not just Baltimore, either - she'd taken the kid out on a little road trip. Yanno, for life lessons! Most of them criminal, of course, but that was sort of how their mentorship worked, so someone else could handle the boring stuff. Anyway, they'd had fun!
So much of it, in fact, that Harley had only landed back on the island late on Monday evening. Technically probably Tuesday? Which meant that after she'd passed out and slept her fill, the day was already well on its way. She rolled groggily out of bed, shambled her way into the living room --
And groaned when she saw the glitter bomb still waiting on the coffee table, and not downstairs attached to the front door ready to explode on Frenchie if he showed up again this week. Whether he'd already shown up or not, Harley was not in a state to go set it up now.
She shuffled around some more, in search of her phone, which she found discarded on the kitchen counter. No calls, no messages apart from Cass informing her she'd ordered breakfast delivery on Harley's account. Harley looked at the phone for a long moment more anyway, tapping her thumb against the side of it in thought. Groggy, still sleepy, not yet caffeinated thought.
And pulled up a number she'd had for a while but never actually texted before.
(Successfully, anyway. There was that time on her birthday.)
You awake yet?
(expecting one but can be open for other stuff as well!)

Hey, he could give feedback sometimes. Words and everything.

A fact she was somehow managing to somewhat convey via touch, too. If strokes could be adoring then that was what Harley's hand was accomplishing.

Now, was that going to stop her? Probably not for longer than a moment.

Namely getting Harley distracted as she felt the immediate burning need to reciprocate to the absolute best of her abilities, but that was something!

Marc slid his hand back into her hair and held her close as he kissed her harder though. Sure what they were doing was meant to involve him lying back but whatever. There was time.
no subject
At some point.
When he wasn't so distracting.
He was kissing her hard enough that it forced a happy whimper out of her mouth and into his, so she wasn't doing so hot on the focus side of things. It was enough of a miracle her hand was still working him over.
no subject
He did break the kiss eventually. But so he could lean in, nip at her earlobe, and say, "Nice."
no subject
"Yes you are."

And, okay, also because she needed to be leaning anyway, though more towards the bedside table now. The stretch was unlikely to have an adverse effect on his view, although she did have to let go of him to do it.

Also, she didn't dump the box of condoms onto the floor, this time! Mainly because the thing had now been taped onto the edge of the bedside table, because Harley loved a quick and easy solution most of all. And in this case, it allowed her to fish one out without a fuss, so, result!
She made a triumphant little noise over it as she was straightening up and everything.
no subject
"Wall still fortified too, huh?" he said, since naturally he looked up at that next.
no subject
So yes, the books were still there. As was the police tape holding the shelf together, above.

She remained all to casual about saying shit like that.

"Huh?"
That was not a track her brain had been prepared to be on!
no subject
no subject
Unwisely, maybe, but her brain had not fully caught up to what she thought he'd asked. So he was getting that, earnestly.

Except of course, her head tilted right after, and she looked off to the side in thought. "Of course, I usually haven't been really able to tell in the moment 'cause the power of wishful thinkin' mixed with pure delusion is so strong..." She trailed off, then waved a hand, cheerfully dismissive. "But I'm sure you're fine!"

Right? Right.
