You asked Harley, it was a pretty good Sunday, so far.

She'd started out her day with no plan, and yet by happy accident (and it was definitely an accident, and not someone somewhere making room in a shared schedule to facilitate things, or anything deliberate on the part of anyone directly involved!) she'd run into Marc, and that had sparked a simple and easy plan after all: to drive him to the mainland for dinner, at a restaurant she'd overheard someone talking about on one of her off-island jaunts earlier in the week. It was supposed to be a family-run, no-nonsense little Italian place, and exactly the sort of thing Harley was in the mood for, especially right now with the company she had.

So life was indeed pretty good!

And Harley's mood wasn't soured even by finding out there was actually no parking available right by the restaurant. After some searching, she'd managed to find a spot some blocks away - which was to say, she'd sniped it from right under someone's nose with a truly reckless move. Which had led to some blaring horns from other cars. Which was all good in Harley's book! She had more important things to be thinking about, anyway!

"And the tiramisu's supposed to be amazing," she was saying, as they got out of the car. "Like, 'someone's 97-year-old tiny little Italian grandma made it' kind of amazing. D'you think they'd let me order that for an app and not just dessert?"

Harley draped one of her legs over him. That said something, too.

And then there was the way words fell out of her mouth, without too much thought behind them. "Like that you stayed."

"Nice that you wanted me to," Marc replied. He rubbed her back absentmindedly. He wasn't saying "after everything" but he was thinking it.

Harley shrugged. "Never considered not wanting you to," she said. "Hasn't bitten me in the ass so far."

The 'after everything' didn't factor into it for her. Except in that he'd still wanted to stay - although the full meaning of how he'd chosen to fight to stay in the body would not hit her for several more days.

"Maybe if you ask nicely," Marc replied easily enough.

"Maybe if you ask nicely enough."

Hilarious, the both of them.

That earned her a chuckle. And Marc pulling her more on top of him.

"Gotta check my messages but if nothing's new I don't have anywhere to be for a while."

"Ooh, ya don't?" Harley cooed, as if it was news. "Whatcha gonna do to fill all that time?"

Marc pretended to think. "Sit and read the paper?"

He was not remotely serious.

The likely expected eye roll was almost instant.

"Well if you wanna be boring about it."

Never mind that if that had genuinely been what he wanted to do, Harley would just have curled against his side and let him. No one needed to know that.

"What? You don't like the crossword?" Marc asked. He was failing to hide his grin, but then he wasn't trying too hard either. "Or the comic with the... dog?"

Marc was flailing a little at the end there. It had been a long, long time since he engaged with comics of any kind.

Harley noticed, and clearly found it hilarious.

"You don't read the comic with the dog! Ya don't! Betcha don't do the crossword, neither!"

"I don't look like a guy who could do the crossword?" Marc asked.

Technically he did look like Steven, so...

"Ya don't got the accent for it."

So she was agreeing with his narrative, there.

"Also, could and would? Two different things, sweetie."

"Dying of boredom counts as an option, right?" Marc asked.

Harley tsked.

"That should never even be on the table as an option."

"I would if I had to do a crossword though," Marc pointed out.

Harley made her eyes big and raised her eyebrows high. Comically so on both counts, but actually on purpose this time.

"Who's forcing ya to do crosswords? I'll fight them!"

That got a laugh out of Marc. Couldn't be helped and he didn't bother to hide it.

It also got him pulling her in for a kiss. Because reasons.

Oh, well, Harley could do with a kiss! Harley could do with one very well, in fact!

Giving a happy hum into it and everything.

"If anybody tries, I'll sic you on 'em," Marc promised.

"Good," Harley said, and flopped back down against his chest.

Only to follow it up with, "Ugh, I need to get up."

"Sorry I'm not comfortable?" Marc said, misunderstanding what she was talking about.

With such little context provided? Weird!

"No," Harley replied, and rubbed her face against his chest, just to make it clear she found him extremely comfortable to lay on top of, "but I gotta pee and so does Bruce."

"Ah," Marc said. He was now vaguely reminded his clothes were still in the bathroom. "That I can't help you with."

"I know," Harley replied on a whine, as she began to finally push herself up - or at least rolled off him, in the direction of one of the edges of the bed.
