Harley was having a quiet day in.

... What? It happened! It was allowed! Even the most high energy rogues had to take days off sometimes. There was a marathon of some awful reality show on the TV - oh, also, she had a TV now, a vintage one with a great aesthetic and terrible reception! - and she had a comfy onesie on and a takeout order on the way.

What more could a girl need?

"But that's so long to wait," Harley whined.

Not at all serious.

"Mediate or something," Marc suggested.

Extremely not serious. Particularly if anyone imagined him trying to meditate.

Yeah, Harley scoffed at it. "It's too loud in here for that."

And yes, she tapped her temple when she said 'in here'.

"Although I guess I could always busy myself with my usual dirty daydreamin'... That's sorta like meditation, right?"

Marc nodded, because he very much got the whole 'loud in here' thing.

"What? You don't like my conversation?" he asked, about the rest of it.

"Were you gonna converse with me all through meditation?"

"The way I do it, yeah," Marc said.

Probably not a shock that comparatively speaking Marc would rather talk than meditate.

"Uh huh," Harley replied, shifting until she could slide both hands on top of each other on his chest, then rest her chin on them. "So whatcha wanna talk about?"

"Crap, I gotta think of something too?" Marc asked. He moved his hands so they could still rest on her back in her new position. "Knew there was a catch."

"Always is," Harley informed him cheerfully. "Keep up!"

"I did the thing about what you don't like," Marc said, clearly hoping to get out of coming up with something.

"Oh, are we going back to that now?" Harley inquired, helpfully. Somewhat. "Recycling topics? Something left you're hopin' to discover or share? It is very helpful to be curious about your partners, you know!"

"I'm curious about what you wanna talk about," Marc said. "I did the last one. Unless you got a thing about the weather."

"What kinda thing about the weather?"

You'd brought this distraction upon yourself, Marc.

It was his own fault for never developing conversational skills.

"I dunno," Marc said. "It's a thing people talk about."

Did he pay attention when they did? No.

"I'm impressed you even know that much," Harley replied. "Seems like exactly the sorta thing you'd tune out stat."

Like she did, yeah.

"Not saying I'd listen," Marc told her. He left off the part about how Steven was the one who could actually talk about the weather with people. Best not to bring him up given Marc and Harley's current... situation.

"That's more like it," Harley replied, like she was pleased her first hunch had been correct. It was fun to be right! "And ya shouldn't! Weather's weather, yanno? It's gonna be happening whether you talk about it or not!"

"Boring anyway," Marc said.

Probably not a thing he should mention to anyone on the island who could control the weather. Times like that it was good Marc was a poor conversationalist.

"Right?" Harley replied, with hugely raised eyebrows because see, he got it! "Let's not talk about weather any more'n we already have."

"You wanna talk about something else or just close your eyes?" Marc asked.

He'd noticed that thing where she slept on him. Funnily enough he didn't seem to mind it.

"Close my eyes?" Harley asked, not immediately making the connection. "Why, you gonna whip out some sorta surprise on me?"

"To sleep," Marc said. "How much your dreams surprise you is outta my hands."

"You wanna put me to sleep?" Harley asked, with a snicker.

"I'm saying it's an option," Marc told her with a roll of his eyes. "If you don't have anything you wanna talk about."

"I dunno," Harley teased, "maybe you're just lookin' for a blanket but you're too shy to ask for it."

Yes, she did still remember who she was talking to.
